Well aren’t you in for a treat…
Not just a handy blog giving you all the info you need on getting your suits sorted for your wedding but bringing you the loveliest people that sell the awesome suits too! The Vintage Suit Hire Company have paused their crazy busy schedule to answer some questions to get you suit wearers ‘in the know’.
So, tell us who you are...
We are Jess and Tom and we own The Vintage Suit Hire Company, an award-winning business providing beautiful wool suits for hire and to purchase. The business was founded in 2016 and born from our personal experiences when we got married in 2011 and struggled to find vintage style (and affordable) suits to hire for the groom and groomsmen.
Hundreds of weddings later, we have two locations and have worked to build a loyal and treasured client base. We’ve expanded the team to ensure our customers have the best experience possible in choosing their vintage inspired suit for the big day.

What can you offer your clients that's different from other companies...
We lead the way in offering our unique tweed style suits to a national market, and focus on making our grooms look great and feel awesome on their big day. We treat every groom as an individual and seek to understand what their preferences are so we can perfect their look. Add to that our great selection of quirky accessories and footwear and we know why our clients tell us we’re a cut above the rest!
Can you tailor your services...
Every groom and wedding is different, so we like to really understand our couples’ requirements to see how we can help. We have a range of services to make the process easier, for instance we can ship and collect suits to and from locations nationwide.
We also have many different colours and types of unique accessories so our grooms can play dress-up and find the colours and styles that work for them.

How many people can attend...
There’s no limit to amount of people we can look after during an appointment, we just make the appointment longer. Most groups are between 4 and 8 people and group fittings can be lots of fun!
What is the process from start to finish...
Our general approach is to get the groom in for an initial appointment, with his partner or best man. They can try on whatever they like and formulate an idea of what they’d like to wear. Once they know what they’d like and closer to the wedding we have a group fitting where the whole group can find their sizes. We make the suits ready for collection from our Bedford store or delivery to their location a few days before the wedding. Then they come back to us a couple of days after the wedding.

How far in advance should people book...
We advise our couples to get in touch 4 to 6 months before their wedding to book an appointment with us. Our weekend appointments get booked up a couple of months in advance, but weekday appointments are much easier to book. As all our purchased suits are made to order, we have a lead time of 3 months so would need an order placed well ahead of the wedding date to ensure we can have the garments ready for the big day.
What advice do you have for couples...
Be yourself! We strongly believe you should forget about thinking you have to do have your wedding the same way as everyone else if it’s not to your taste. This is a great opportunity to show everyone you care about your unique personality and you can really have fun with it.

That's a wrap...

I have had great please capturing some of their suits and it’s so refreshing to see some originality when it comes to what the lads have worn. I hope to see plenty more of The Vintage Suit Hire Company suits at my weddings. Don’t forget to check out my work. I love nothing more than individual, alternative and fun couples!
