The perfect match

I wanna box these two up and keep them for days when I am down. They just make you smile… mouth wide, teeth out, Cheshire cat smile!

I was over the moon when Elly and Matt chose me to be their photographer. I knew with their style and passion for partying and music, their day would be one to remember!

We kicked off the morning with Elly getting ready at The Woolpack Inn Islip and Matt at home.

I had the pleasure of capturing Elly beautifying herself (total bonus when you are a super talented make-up artist!) and hair by Chelsea from The Parlour Cambridge. The girls made the most of the morning and downed pink gin and popped a few confetti canons in the room for good measure. They left us deaf and the ceiling colourful but was certainly worth it for the awesome pictures! Elly looked off the chart gorgeous in her Grace Loves Lace dress. Hot lady right there!

Matt also got full Marks for effort and style when it came to his and the boys suits. Black velvet and silver sequined jackets could not have been a better choice! I love that they stayed 100% true to their style and personality and didn’t deviate for the sake of formality and traditions! High five!

Time to get wed

Then we were there, at Kingsthorpe Lodge Barn, a fabulous farm style venue. Intimate and full of character, it was the perfect backdrop for their day. Transformed by the talented bunch from Hall and Co Event Design, the fairy lights, hessian drapes, candles and so much more created a warm, inviting and quirky atmosphere.

The celebrant led ceremony by White Rose Ceremonies – Rebecca, was magical. Elly walked down the aisle to a surprise gospel choir, CK Gospel Choir, arranged by Matt. There were tears-a-flowing and possibly snot-a-dribbling but it didn’t matter, it was a stunning moment.

They were showered with the second load of confetti for the day when being announced as the new Mr and Mrs Start and walked out to a huge round of applause.

Then it was on to… wait for it… more confetti. But I was SO not complaining about this. If you ask me, every wedding should have numerous moments of colour filled sky!

Elly and Matt’s day had nods to them everywhere you turned but nothing more relevant and personal than the constant flow of live music. Following the surprise choir, the guests were treated to a doo wop band called the TestostaTones and

A hilarious home-made video, complete with interview with Elly made up the best men’s speech. I think it safe to say it hit the right spot with Matt spending a fair bit of time with his head in his hands and his guests roaring with laughter, well done lads.

Paaaaarty!

Then back to the music theme and it was Matt’s turn to take to the stage and perform at his most important gig yet… his own wedding! Completely in his comfort zone and leading the first of a number of friends and family members performances on stage, Matt sung his heart out to his guests and his wife and properly started that party swinging!

Matt and Elly, two wonderful humans who I have loved sharing this journey with. Thank you a million times over x
